Skotel Alpine Resort is situated in the Ruapehu Region on the Thermal Explorer & Volcanic Loop Touring Routes which traverse dramatic landscapes in the heart of the North Island of New Zealand, approximately half way between Auckland and Wellington.
Tongariro National Park Whakapapa is about 4.5 hours drive from both Auckland and Wellington and Skotel sits within 500 meters of the Visitor Centre.
There is no night pollution around Skotel Alpine Resort making it a great spot for night sky photography, weather permitting.

SHUTTLES
Our friendly staff can arrange shuttles with a local company and tour bookings as well as provide advice on local activities, restaurants and walking tracks.
Door-to-door shuttles are available for the ski fields during the winter ski season and Tongariro Alpine Crossing in the summer season. Please note that shuttles operate seasonally, weather conditions permitting.

Edge to Edge, our onsite Ski Shop, provides the most comprehensive Ski and Snowboard hire for Mt Ruapehu, Whakapapa & Turoa Ski Fields. As well as hiking gear for summer and clothing for both seasons.
