The Tongariro National Park can provide a stimulating, enjoyable and different venue for your seminar or workshop.  Our clients have found that, by combining business sessions with outdoor activities, such an event can be made both more memorable and effective for its purpose of training or team building.  The Park’s central situation makes it easily accessible for all those living in the North Island. For that reason we are a great venue for family re-unions and one family regularly gets together at the Skotel each May.  The parents and grand-parents enjoy the luxury of the superior rooms while the teenagers can stay cheaply in the backpackers rooms. The Skotel’s situation in Whakapapa Village means that there is a variety of half-day walks available from our door to enable a mix and match of study and leisure.  Moreover our staff are knowledgeable about the vast range of activities available within a convenient distance and a menu of options can be arranged to suit from the most adventurous to the most sedentary -  from river-rafting to hot pools.

Our intimate scale and friendly atmosphere make it very suitable for smaller events requiring up to 20 rooms but given adequate notice we can devote the whole hotel to a larger event.   Prices range from the unbelievably economical (using our back-packers wing) to great value in our superior rooms.  An important feature, which several clients have found ideal, is that attendees can be offered a range of price options in the same building, thus catering for a mix of students, professors and guest speakers.

We do not have a designated conference rooms but we have several spaces, all with good natural light, that can be re-arranged to provide conference and break-out facilities.  Any requirements such as white boards or overhead projector are available or can easily be arranged.

All necessary meals together with morning and afternoon teas be served to meet any requirements.
